Known as the First Monday in May, the annual MET Gala (formerly called the Costume Institute Gala) is fashion’s biggest night.  Celebrating the grand opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit, the MET Gala is recognized for its grand themes and hotly-anticipated red carpet.  Curated by Andrew Bolton, the exhibit carefully reviews a moment in fashion history that transcends seasonal trend.  Known as one of the most exclusive events of the year, the MET Gala inspires the fashion flock to honor the theme with grand gestures and personal style.

The House of Carolina Herrera has long been a supporter of the Costume Institute and MET Gala, with Mrs Herrera designing looks for herself and celebrities ranging from Emily Blunt to Zhang Ziyi.  For last year’s Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between the House designed avant garde pieces to celebrate the Japanese designer’s signature aesthetic.  The House of Herrera’s Good Girl Karlie Kloss wore an oversized tuxedo jacket dress while our 212 girl Hailey Baldwin was an ethereal puff in a tiered tulle skirt.  The atelier was incredibly involved in the individual looks, creating custom looks for Karlie, Hailey, Taylor Hill, and Emmy Rossum.  As we approach tomorrow’s MET Gala, the House is excited to reveal this year’s looks and how they celebrate the heritage of the House of Carolina Herrera.
