Every bride glows with feelings of love and excitement on their special day. However, radiant wedding-day skin takes a little more planning and effort. We spoke to SK-II’s Director of Education, Winnie Liu, to get some insight on how boost the look of your skin inside and out before a big event.

If you’re prepping for a big event (red carpet, wedding, event, etc.), how far in advance should you start to prepare the skin?

Planning a wedding can take a lot of time and could be stressful so the Facial Treatment Mask can give brides some relief. Truth be told, some brides may not have the time to mask for a whole month so I always recommend using the mask once every two or three days the week leading up to your event. But if you don’t have a lot of time, mask two hours before your make-up application the day of your event. We use this method to get models fashion ready, during a Fashion Show. The process is typically as followed:

1. Apply Facial Treatment Mask on cleansed skin for 5 minutes. The mask bonds nicely to the skin, so you can move around without worrying it will fall off.

2. Sprinkle a small amount of Facial Treatment Essence into a cotton pad and gently massage into the skin, so you can move around without worrying it will fall off.

3. Lastly, layer the Facial Treatment Essence Eye under the eye area to achieve a bright-eyed look. The texture is silky smooth, so it sinks into the eye area with the gentlest of pats, giving the entire eye a smooth, hydrated appearance.

What do you think is the most important part of maintaining healthy skin?

It is important to take care of your skin inside and out. With our daily schedules, we need to start with having balanced meals, drinking enough water, exercise and have enough restful sleep along with a good skincare regime. If you can remember to do these daily, the benefits can be rewarding.

What do you tell clients to focus on in their 20’s? 30’s? 40’s?

20’s – Take care of your skin early! Preventative care is important to keep skin looking youthful. Most often, twenty-something’s neglect to think about the eye area, the first signs of aging begin to creep up when least expected.

30’s – In your 30s, you may notice fine lines, wrinkles and a lack of firmness. It’s crucial to focus on skincare specific to anti-aging.

40’s – Approaching the 40’s can be a frightening experience for many women because of the changes your body – and your skin – can go through. That means it’s crucial to follow a skincare ritual that can tackle the signs of aging at their source. Essential Power Eye Cream is a new anti-aging eye treatment that provides radical firmness on three crucial points around the eyes: the eyelids, the under eye area and the eye corners.
Lastly, whether you are in your 20’s, 30’s, or 40’s, masking regularly is important to maintain youthful skin!
