Every bride has her dream wedding, and sometimes that dream takes the occasion to romantic, far-away places. For New York bride (and Atelier Doré Chief Operating Officer) Emily Note, the destination was the Tuscan countryside, just as summer dwindled into fall. Her gown? The Gardenia gown from the Carolina Herrera Fall 2018 Collection. With wine aplenty, Emily and her groom collected with their nearest and dearest for a wedding to remember.
How they met: We met in college… but we didn’t reconnect until we both had moved to New York several years later. I bumped into Josh at the Apple Store Genius Bar in the Meatpacking District. As they say, the rest is history!
About the wedding: Where to start! We decided to get married in Italy, because… why not? Good food! It’s beautiful! Who doesn’t love Italy? We had a four-day party with seventy of our closest family and friends, starting with a dinner for immediate family, a Friday pizza and pool party for all of our guests, and the main event on Saturday. Josh’s cousin, Francesca (who happens to be a friend of Wes Gordon’s), married us in a very sweet, non-denominational ceremony. We wanted the night to feel like a super chic, leisurely dinner party that goes into the early morning with fun dancing. We had a vinyl DJ, a gelato truck… my brother even jumped into the pool! It was the most fun, romantic, intimate weekend of my life.
Happiest wedding memory: Seeing Josh’s face when I walked down the aisle… it was the first time he saw me in my dress. We couldn’t stop smiling, and crying!
About the dress: I knew the first time I saw a photo of the Gardenia gown that it was for me! I wanted something classic and restrained, something that wouldn’t overwhelm my petite frame (I’m only 5’2″) and this dress was perfect. I felt comfortable all night, and the best part: pockets! The pockets may have been the biggest hit of the evening.
You know you’re a Carolina Herrera bride when: You put your dress on for the first time. I felt completely comfortable and like myself in a wedding dress… which wasn’t something I had ever imagined possible.
