Carolina Herrera is founded upon the celebration of color and life— “alegría de vivir” as they say—and the vibrant hues and florals of the atelier certainly uphold that spirit. So much so, that the extension of the runway collection to a tabletop collection was only natural. Embracing the rich, floral tones of imperial red, golden yellow, and cerulean blue, the House partnered with lifestyle magazine Cabana to create a limited-edition collection of tableware that echoes the bold colors and playful hues of Carolina Herrera’s Codes of the House.
In the nature of alegría de vivir, Carolina Herrera and Cabana gathered friends in the likes of Jamie Lee Curtis, Nicky Hilton, Garance Dore, Brad Goreski, Hallie Swanson, Anna Ferguson one crisp Monday night to celebrate their collaboration of gold-rimmed plates, hand-embroidered placemats and napkins, hand-painted trays, and Murano water and wine glasses. On November 4th, at Harriet’s Rooftop in West Hollywood, creative director Wes Gordon’s joyfully fun vision imbued the outdoor space as elaborate floral arrangements adorned every tabletop. Petals were strewn across the ping-pong table where Murano glass-blown tumblers demonstrated their versatility as pong cups and Carolina Herrera-printed ping pong balls were tossed back and forth, exuding the youthful energy of Gordon’s creative spirit. Guests mingled around the candlelit presentation of the collection and then proceeded to dance and throughout the evening, embodying the dynamic energy of New York that continually inspires Gordon.
