Creative Director Wes Gordon’s creations lit up the Save Venice’s annual Ballo in Maschera as voluminous silhouettes, pops of color and dramatic sleeves adorned The Plaza Hotel.  Friends of the House, including Shanina Shaik and Amanda Alagem, stunned in Carolina Herrera New York as they entered the masquerade gala.

The gala, which benefits art preservation and restoration, had a theme of “Artist and Muse” allowing the guest to drape themselves to the highest standard. Shanina Shaik dazzled as she stood out from the crowd in the Lillian tiered tulle gown from the just-released Spring 2020 Bridal Collection. The wedding dress features a strapless bodice with floral appliqués and a tulle tiered skirt with three layers that were perfectly complemented when paired with the black lace face mask over Shaik’s eyes. The “Artist and Muse” theme was embodied perfectly as Amanda Alagem stepped into The Plaza Hotel entrance wearing the Spring 2019 smock-neck silk gown.  Spotted in polka dots, Saks’ Roopal Patel charmed in the Spring 2019 ruffled halter dress as she hobnobbed with the night’s crowned best-dressed duo James Aguiar and Mark Haldeman.  Stylist Erin Walsh electrified in the taxicab yellow tulle cocktail dress from the Pre-Fall 2018 collection while Vanessa Traina glittered in Pre-Fall’s embellished t-shirt gown.

Carolina Herrera’s creations and Save Venice’s homage to Renaissance creations were a romance of female embodiment and eclectic glamour.
