From glamorous silhouettes in vibrant hues to powerful pops of color that dance beyond their own delicate beadwork, the Carolina Herrera Spring 2018 collection celebrates a bold palette. For the House of Herrera, Spring is more than a season: it’s a mood and way of being. Joining us to celebrate the season, Friends of the House Grace Fuller and Roya Sachs share favorite looks from the Carolina Herrera Spring 2018 Collection, now available in-store and on Farfetch.
“Every day is a new drawing board for me,” says W Magazine’s jewelry editor Grace Fuller, luminous in our pleated midi dress in electric yellow, “I don’t have a uniform.” Proving that, she easily shifted into our column v-neck dress dotted with bold colors reminiscent of the top-heavy tulips that soon will blanket Park Avenue. With the schedule of a busy editor living in New York, casually following – and breaking – a style uniform makes sense due to hectic schedules and the constant influx of inspiration. “I’ve spent so many years wearing black, but now I’m into color,” Fuller thoughtfully added as she toyed with the oversized blue buttons on her dress. Soon after she switched into our pale blue v-neck midi dress with tied waist. “This is my favorite color,” she confessed with a twinkle in her eye, “I love a dress with sleeves… this feels very party girl to me.”
For independent curator and creative director Roya Sachs, color dares her to make a statement: “My style is eclectic. I love clashing colors, especially primary colors. It’s always there on a statement piece, whether it’s a bright jacket or handbag or a bold scarf. I’ll never fully be in black.” Whether it’s curating an experiential and immersive show for Performa or meeting with fellow founding members of Dia Becaon Contemporary Associates, art and its experience continually inspires Roya’s personal style and wardrobe choices. “The art I’m working on influences my style,” she confessed as she stepped into our black wrap midi skirt with playful oversized white polkadots, “I’m wearing a lot more black and white now because I’m working on a show with conceptual artist Adam Pendleton… certainly art, creativity, and that headspace bleeds into my style.” Yet color continues to motivate Roya and spark her enthusiasm for New York glamour, something she effortlessly proved as she floated into our pink and blue sweetheart cap-sleeve gown, “this dress is so playful. It’s one of those perfect New York dresses.”
