Lush jewel tones, crisp blacks and whites and fanciful floral prints encapsulated the eye-catching looks in Carolina Herrera’s 2018 Resort Collection.
Flowers from Carolina’s native Venezuela took a starring role, accenting A-line skirts, fitted bodices, crisp jackets and nipped waistlines, while Carolina relied on modern accents like deep-Vs and pleated necklines to make an elegant statement.
Among the uniquely ladylike creations are structured, yet soft, ball skirts in compelling floral motifs, color-blocked, belted tops and bottoms and new takes on the age-old black and white, with models donning flirty gowns with flattering necklines and spirited hems.
Carolina’s mix of materials and silhouettes additionally fashioned this unmatched collection. A black-and-white fit and flare dress shaped by a facile knit and lightweight striped denim cut into an A-line skirt created an effortless contrast to the feminine floral frocks that comprised the collection. A shift to polka dotted and striped prints in rich blues and raspberry shades translated gracefully into breezy gowns – further alluding to the uncomplicated beauty of Carolina’s family gardens.
