Creative Director Wes Gordon introduces a collaboration with the archive of Rose Cumming, the early 20th-century interior decorator widely celebrated for her eclectic sense of print and color with bohemian glamour. Rose brought Park Avenue legendary flair from her atelier on the corner of 59th Street, where she was known to drape fabric in her signature prints across the sidewalk for her famed clientele, including Jackie O. and Andy Warhol, to view colors in natural daylight— a nod to her characteristic sense of detail and theatrics.

Rose’s lively prints communicate a refined boldness that led Wes to travel to Kansas, where he sifted through her print archives to find the perfect combination of color and texture for Early Pre-Fall. The resulting prints conjure the feeling of a countryside garden, during that beautiful time between Summer and Fall, the slight crisp in the air, flora in bloom and sharpness of colors transitioning into gem-toned hues. The collection brings this print sensibility to feminine silhouettes, from knits and dresses to caftans and swimwear, along with the spirit of being oneself, an original classic, forever intrinsic to the House of Carolina Herrera.
