Creative director Wes Gordon shares the inspiration behind the Resort 2019 Collection, his first collection for the House of Herrera.

Available in early November, the collection celebrates bright color and unexpected combinations.  Still following our celebrated Codes of the House, Gordon presented a season defined by color-blocking, graphic florals and hearts, and mixes of vermillion with cayenne, flamingo pink with juniper, and Herrera red against bright white.  White shirts are treated with painted wooden animals, stripes unfold in a rainbow of tulle, and polka dots pop up in the shape of hearts or eyelet flowers. Gowns adopt a more relaxed shape, while still maintaining their timeless glamour.

Introducing new concepts, the collection surprises with an embroidered coat made from recycled wool, while also staying true to the House’s dedication to skill via custom touches like a brocade jacquard designed by the House’s design team. Never one to shy away from color, Gordon’s collection is full of summery hues that range from orange and begonia to Miramar blue.  Pants are high-waisted and flared, while knit dresses are given an unexpected peek-a-back touch. Accessories are bold and playful, with color-blocked belts and oversized beaded heart earrings making their own Herrera statement.

The Carolina Herrera New York Resort 2019 Collection will be available in Carolina Herrera New York boutiques and with our retail partners.
